Currently, environmental issues are in the heart of EU agenda and a specific European strategy on Circular Economy has been developed. At national level the Ministry of Environment & Energy has also developed a National Strategy on Circular Economy, where the Single Use Plastics policy is included, aiming at protecting the environment and help the industries towards a sustainalble growth. 

In this context the Federation of Hellenic Food Industries organized a workshop to tackle relevant issues, with the participation of the Association of Greek Soft Drinks Industries and Greek Bottling Industries of Natural Mineral Water, that are primarily impacted by the latest evolutions and european regulations. The workshop took place at SEVT premises, on May 14th and the participants had the chance to listen, discuss and clarify hot topics that concern the Industry. 

Interesting presentations were made by representatives of the Ministry of Envrironment, of EFBW (European Federation of Bottled Waters), of the Association of the Greek Manufacturers of Packaging & Materials, of the Hellenic Recovery Recycling Corporation, of company members, that provided useful information and insight.

The positive outcome of the workshop is the strong will expressed by all stakeholders to collaborate towards a common direction, in order to turn the challenges into opportunities for future actions.
