{"id":8913,"date":"2020-11-02T09:12:36","date_gmt":"2020-11-02T06:12:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sevt.baldpixel.com\/european-national-projects\/life-circforbio\/"},"modified":"2024-01-12T15:32:04","modified_gmt":"2024-01-12T12:32:04","slug":"life-circforbio","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.sevt.gr\/en\/european-national-projects\/life-circforbio\/","title":{"rendered":"LIFE CIRCforBIO"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The&nbsp; <a href=\"http:\/\/circforbio.eu\/\">CIRCforBIO<\/a> project (A circular economy system for multi-source biomass conversion to added value products) aims to is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) mainly by replacing fossil fuels, that it is, fuels derived from biomass (any organic source).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specifically, in the present project, biomass is derived from separeted food waste (households), bussiness waste (cafes, restaurants and bakeries) and agricultural residues of Municipality of Lavreotiki as well as from food industries (brewery, potato industry &amp; fruite juice industry).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By designing, developing and demonstrating a standard biorefinary system at the Lavrion Technological Park the biomass will be utilized for its bioconversion into a range of value-added products such as biodiesel, bioethanol, biogas and fertilizer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;The project started on 1st October 2019 and will last 44 months. It is co-funded by EU LIFE programme, which is the EU&#8217;s most important financial instrument for the environment.
