AGRIFOODSKILLS (A Strategic Community of Practice and Observatory for the Agrifood Pact for Skills) is a European initiative funded by the Erasmus+ program, aimed at establishing a strategic Community of Practice and Observatory in support of the Agri-Food Pact for Skills. Expanding on the efforts of the previous FIELDS and I-RESTART Projects, its goal is to extend the impact of their achievements while supporting the practical advancement of the Pact.

The Project was launched in January 2025 and is set to run until January 2029.

AGRIFOODSKILLS focuses on the introduction and adoption of innovative technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), deep tech, and future foods, while also placing strong emphasis on enhancing digital and green skills. At the core of the project lies the goal of significantly upgrading the expertise of professionals, to meet the continuously developing needs of the agri-food sector.

Within this framework, the Project focuses on identifying existing gaps in education and training, as well as skills that require enhancement. At the same time, it aims to revise EU strategies to ensure they address both the specific needs of each country, while also complying with the quality standards set by the European Union.

The AGRIFOODSKILLS Project is highly important for SEVT due to its active role in the dissemination of the Project results and participation in various Working Groups. SEVT’s involvement is expected to enhance the shaping of the essential skills needed for Green Transition, while strengthening workforce capabilities in the agri-food sector.
