For another year the Federation of Hellenic Food Industries (SEVT) participated actively in FOOD EXPO, which had been set under its auspises. The exhibition took place on 10-12 March at METROPOLITAN EXPO, with a huge participation, bringing together more than 1,300 Greek and international exhibitors. The exhibition was attended by more than 3,500 key buyers from all across the world and more than 72,000 trade visitors, consolidating once again its reputation as the largest Food & Beverage trade show ever organized in Greece.
SEVT participation in Food Expo marks the signifact role of extroversion for the food industry, demonstrating the dynamism of the Greek Food Industry, which produces competitive, qualitive, innovative products. At the SEVT stand, the stakeholders received information on the SEVT mission, role and activities, as well as for the Export Platform, highlighting the export activity of the Greek food industries.
The importance of the Food & Drink Industry was stressed by Mr Evangelos Kaloussis, President of SEVT, who during his address stated that this particular sector accounts for 25 percent of the Greek manufacturing and industrial production, while its turnover amounts to approximately 15 billion euros, of which 4.5 billion relate to exports. “Our goal is to bring Greek products to international markets”, said Mr Kaloussis. “And FOOD EXPO plays has an important role to play”.
