TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM "FOOD FOR LIFE"

National Technology Platforms (NFTPs) are partnerships encouraged by the European Commission to drive innovation, improve knowledge transfer, stimulate European competitiveness across the food chain & unite stakeholders across the food industry sectors of each country.

As a direct result of the SRA national consultations from April 2006 until today, 36 National Food Platforms have been established, representing a valuable means of networking of stakeholder communities at the national level and provide an efficient channel for two- way communication with the European Technology Platform “Food for Life”, established by Food Drink Europe and its members.

The National Technology Platforms represent:

• The voice of the National Food Sector.
• A valuable means of networking stakeholder communities of the agri-food sector through the coordination of research, development, and innovation activities at national level.
• A two-way channel for communication with the ETP, helping shape research priorities at European level.
• A network both for the exchange of good practices and experience and for the promotion of National positions at European level.
