FoodDrinkEurope works on behalf of SMEs and aims to develop the competitiveness of Europe’s food and drink industry by putting a special emphasis on the specific needs of SMEs as regards to;
- Simplifying policies
- Reducing administrative burdens in food science, health and nutrition, competitiveness and environmental sustainability
- Improving access to finance
- Developing research programmes
- Facilitating SME access to international markets

FoodDrinkEurope organized on 24th of November 2016, a showcase event as part of the European SME Week where Phil Hogan, EU Agriculture and Rural Development Commissioner, shared his insights on how European trade and innovation policy can help drive SME growth in the food and drink sector. Through individual hands-on presentations, SME entrepreneurs talked about what they see as challenges and opportunities and provided insight into how the EU can continue fostering an entrepreneurial spirit.
